Lil Uzi Vert Joined Paramore For “Misery Business”

Photo via YouTube

Paramore are on the road at the moment, and they are killing it. With a setlist that combines the best of their pristine discography with choice cuts from their new record, This Is Why, they are bringing joy across the US at the moment. One moment of joy that has become a staple in their set is during “Misery Business”, where usually the audience participates. How it usually plays out is Hayley Wiliams invites someone from the front row on stage to sing the song’s iconic bridge with her. Chaos always ensues.

But last night (May 31st) in New York City, on their second night at Madison Square Garden, that moment was a little bit different. Rather than a member of the audience joining the band on stage, Lil Uzi Vert took the reigns. Oh yes. Invited on stage by Hayley, you can feel the love and respect radiating out of both of them. Hayley takes the moment to say, “We’ve been talking for a minute, but this is the first time meeting in person. I love you. You’ve said too many nice things about me. You are so sweet to me and to Paramore”. How lovely is that?

And then both of them go out there and absolutely smash it. It is a wonderful piece of world-crossing brilliance and a reminder that being nice in this industry gets you a long way. Especially when you’re Lil Uzi Vert saying wonderful things about Paramore.
