Vampire Weekend Covers Fall Out Boy At Madison Square Garden

Following the release of their new record Only God Was Above Us in the spring of 2024, Vampire Weekend headed on the road to play new tracks and indie-rock favorites. On recent tour dates, the act has been using their encore to play much more than their beloved hit, “Walcott.” The artists have been taking cover requests and playing through the verses and choruses they can. On October 5 and 6, the band played at Madison Square Garden to massive crowds. Here, Vampire Weekend partially covered the likes of Billy Joel, The Killers, Dolly Parton, and even Fall Out Boy.… Read more »

Justin Timberlake cancels Madison Square Garden show for TONIGHT

(Photo Credit: RTE.ie)   After an awesome and by all accounts from those in attendance – pretty amazing performance last night at the same venue, Justin Timberlake has cancelled his Madison Square Garden show tonight. He did so, about 2 hours before doors were supposed to start.  (Fans aren’t happy) The reason?  Well…  Conflicting reports. I’m hearing that he did so because of “Throat issues,” that he has been suffering throughout the tour. Last night one could see that JT was noticeably not singing as much as he would have in the past… electing to put the mic out and… Read more »

Foo Fighters savor Madison Square Garden debut

Dave Grohl has been leading the Foo Fighters for 13 years and was part of another rather consequential band before that, but he acted like a thrilled newcomer at the group’s debut Garden performance Tuesday. “Goddamn, we’re playing Madison Square fucking Garden!” he exclaimed at the beginning of the evening. Grohl and company, touring to support their Grammy-winning “Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace,” clearly are giving it all they have. “This is gonna be a long night, this is no In-N-Out Burger,” he promised before taking mock bids on the length of the show. “Do I hear one hour?” he… Read more »

White Stripes rock New York in Garden debut

If there were any doubts that the White Stripes — consisting solely of guitarist Jack White and his “big sister” drummer Meg — could rock out the cavernous Madison Square Garden, the duo erased them with their debut there Tuesday night. “I don’t believe we’ve played this barn before,” joked the guitarist toward the end of their blistering set. Touring to promote their critically acclaimed new release, the explosive “Icky Thump,” the White Stripes made no concessions to the size of the venue. They played sans special effects for much of the set, save for a giant disco ball hanging… Read more »
