As illuminati hotties gear up for their summer run with Boygenius, which kicks off next on July 29 in Quincy, WA following an appearance at Pitchfork Music Festival, the group’s mastermind Sarah Tudzin has issued the infectiously sweet new single “Truck.”

“Truck” emerges as a sonic oasis, whisking us away from the predictable sounds of the mainstream. With gentle guitar melodies paving the way, they seamlessly intertwine with Tudzin’s velvety and captivating vocals, painting a unique musical tapestry. As the notes unfurl, an evocative aura reminiscent of indie mainstays such as Sparklehorse and The National envelops us, embracing the soul of their timeless allure.

In this heartfelt track, Tudzin offers a profound reflection on life’s journey and the enigmatic mysteries that lie beyond. With poetic grace, she muses, “If mortality is a jolting, jagged highway exit, then heaven is a truck as it rumbles through the unknown. ‘Truck’ is a gentle affirmation that the dream can change at no deficit of dignity. For Tim.” This lyrical imagery resonates deeply with listeners, inviting them to contemplate the profound transitions that shape our existence.

After Tudzin worked alongside Boygenius as a co-producer on their latest album release, illuminati hotties will be supporting the trio across several tour dates before joining Silversun Pickups for a one-off show in September.
