Today is a great day to discover your new favorite band. Texas-based House Parties is happy to make your acquaintance with their vivacious new single, “Braindead.” Marking their first release signed to Equal Vision Records, the pop-punk trio introduces themselves to the world through lively gang vocals, dynamic drum fills, and driving guitars that stay the course through the entire arrangement. It is a fiery anthem with the same tongue-in-cheek spirit as scene heavy-hitters like State Champs—and coincidentally, frontman Derek DiScanio is listed as a collaborator on the track.
In a statement, House Parties shares the meaning behind the single and why they decided to go in such a vibrant direction musically. “‘Braindead’ is a song about just knowing someone who’s dumb. It’s a dumb anthem, if you will,” the band says. “We wanted a song to have non-stop energy from start to finish, and that’s what this song is.”

This new single, along with their debut record label signing, are huge milestones for House Parties. Since their start in 2021, the band has released music independently, proving that hard work and persistence are key to following your dreams. Today, these dreams are a reality for the three-piece, and it is just the beginning.
“LOOK MOM, I’M SIGNED!!!! Today is a very special day for me and the band. We’ve worked so hard to get to this very special moment,” frontwoman Chaney Elaine pens on Instagram. “Thank you to everyone who has always supported me and the band, whether from day one or recently. Some days were definitely a struggle, but knowing I had endless love and support flowing my way, I kept going.”
