FOXCULT have announced that they have signed with Adventure Cat Records and released a new track called “GLACIER” to celebrate. And there are few bands that deserve the spotlight shining on them as much as this trio. Hailing from Seattle, Washington, the all-trans brigade create the sort of frenzied yet melodic post-hardcore that so many of us spent our younger years worshipping at the altar of. Their journey began earlier this year with the release of two singles. First, there was the sprawling “The Garden“, and then there was the gripping “Haunted“, both paying tribute to different sonic muses beautifully and brutally.
But now this exciting new chapter begins, with Adventure Cat Records batting for them. The band had plenty to say about the signing, stating, “Most labels nowadays like to drive bands into certain directions, but at Adventure Cat, we are allowed to be us, unapologetically. We are openly trans & fiercely queer and our music is representative of that. We have a story that we want to tell to an amazing & diverse group of people who are often underrepresented, and Adventure Cat allows us the freedom to do just that.”

And now to GLACIER“. Effervescent chords give way to waves of crushing intention before chesty howls and caramel croons batter and bathe the ear. It’s as soothing as it is savage, gritty as it is grand. A masterful display of song crafting that borrows from the past and propels into the future. There is positivity to be found within the folds of the songs, strands of hope to hang onto. Despite all of the heaviness of life, there is always light to be found in acceptance and understanding. And it is with beautiful songs like this that those factors can shine their brightest.
The band had this to add about what the song means to them, stating,
“The culmination of a larger story, ‘GLACIER’s sweeping, richly-textured soundscape and gripping vocal take listeners through an introspective journey into another worldly realm of self-reflection, acceptance, and optimistic melancholy.”
