Following up their new collaborative single, “Psychopath,” featuring Fit for An Autopsy vocalist Joe Bad, released earlier this year, Body Count has unleashed the politically charged “Fuck What You Heard.” The new track marks the band’s second new single since the release of their 2020 Grammy-winning single “Bum-Rush.” “Fuck What You Heard” and “Psychopath” are both scheduled to appear on the group’s forthcoming full-length album, Merciless.

Arriving just one day after the Republican National Convention, frontman Ice-T unleashes a scathing critique of the two-party system and the divisiveness stoked by “the blue and the red.” He takes sharp jabs at media giants like Fox News and CNN, highlights the unjust incarceration of people for weed offenses, and tackles the escalating U.S. housing crisis and other pressing issues.

Anchored by the biting line, “It’s the Democrips Bloodpublicans (from the gang – from the gang),” the group highlights myriad issues plaguing our society and everyday folks, stemming from a nation divided by party lines. They call out the politicians, declaring that “half the dirty muthafuckas should be locked in the feds,” pointing to the corruption and hypocrisy that perpetuates the divide. Check out the official video for “Fuck What You Heard” below.

While Body Count is preparing to release their eighth full-length album, Merciless does not currently have a release date. The band recently wrapped a massive overseas tour at the beginning of July. The group has two more performances scheduled in 2024, including at Louder Than Life and at Aftershock. You can buy tickets to see Body Count live here.

Performance Dates:

  • Sept. 28—Louisville, KY @ Louder Than Life
  • Oct. 12—Sacramento, CA @ Aftershock
