Billie Eilish & boygenius Share “when the party’s over” Collab Video

Back in August, Billie Eilish brought boygenius onstage, surprising fans who came to her intimate London show at the Electric Ballroom. Eilish, with help from Lucy Dacus, Phoebe Bridgers, and Julien Baker, performed the somber hit “when the party’s over” from 2019’s WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?.

Eilish introduced the “Cool About It” trio saying, “For this next song, I wanted to invite a couple of my friends to come sing with me, so I want everybody to please welcome my friends boygenius,” which was met with adoring, surprised screams.

Dacus, Baker, and Bridgers all ran onstage to give bug hugs to Eilish. Check out the gorgeous, ethereal performance of “when the party’s over” below.

Both artists have been incredibly busy since the summer months when this was first recorded. In exciting news, Eilish is on her way to releasing brand-new songs. In an interview with Westwood One’s ‘The Cookout,’ a radio show via SiriusXM, the pop star excitedly shares that she is in the “final stages” of making “a whole album of music.”

While this doesn’t mean the record is ready to drop tomorrow, Eilish promises fans that “lots of music is coming” in the future. “It is getting there, and it’s very exciting,” she adds.

Additionally, boygenius just played a thrilling Halloween show at The Hollywood Bowl, and of course, there were super cool costumes. Foo Fighters‘ own Dave Grohl made a cameo appearance on drums for “Satanist,” as he was decked out in corpse paint. Bridgers’ pug Maxine was also at the show. Consider us officially jealous. Check out the pictures from Halloween below.

Beyond these now-viral show moments, boygenius just released a fall EP the rest, with four new tracks. Our fingers are crossed that the trio plays a new song or two when they serve as a musical guest for the November 11 episode of Saturday Night Live with host Timothée Chalamet.

the rest Tracklist:

1. Black Hole
2. Afraid of Heights
3. Voyager
4. Powers
