Being As An Ocean Declares “Death Can Wait” With New Album

Being As An Ocean are back with a new record titled Death Can Wait. It’s been quite the journey for them to reach this place. It’s been four years since their last full-length PROXY: An A.N.I.M.O Story, a vast and futuristic tale of dystopian might. Since then, they have delivered a handful of fresh singles in the form of “Catch The Wind” and “Lost“. They have also been celebrating a decade of their seminal melodic hardcore record Dear G-D. Some old celebrations and some new innovations have all been leading to this.

Death Can Wait will be released on February 02 via Out Of Line Music. The band have had this to say about what the album represents for them:

“Death Can Wait is about living in the moment, without judgement or fear of circumstance. Taking each day as it comes, and not banking too hard on the future, as none of us know how much time we truly have in this life. Memento Mori. It’s about being mindful of the gift that life is and not squandering it on frivolous or excessive excitements, distractions, diversions; being focused on our goals, aspirations, passions, and constructive obsessions. Living life as if this day is our last while being prepared to greet Death, when it arrives, as a friend and natural part of this beautiful life.”

The artwork for the album is a stunning collage of life’s most important moments. Falling in love, celebrating milestones, and sharing moments with those you love. In the center is death itself, watching over everything and always being close. Though despite the fact you can see them, they shouldn’t be a distraction.

And the first taste of the album is out now. It’s the title track, the central sentiment of the record kicking off this vital new era. It’s a tender and tenacious piece from the duo, showing off their most ethereal and eccentric attributes. An anthem to remind you to live life like it’s the last thing you will ever do. A reminder of the important things we have at our disposal. Most importantly, a catchy piece of post-hardcore battery, the sort that Being As An Ocean are renowned for.
