New York punk outfit Bad Luck. surprised their fans today with their new single, “Turn It Off.” As the opening track of their upcoming EP, Books On Tape, the song opens with aggressive acoustic guitar strums and Dominick Fox’s frantic vocal delivery. This deliciously manic introduction opens up into a full-band arrangement that is just as cathartic and energetic. With a chord progression reminiscent of The Menzingers and Jimmy Eat World, “Turn It Off” is thrilling enough to get anyone on their feet and into the pit.
Books On Tape, being released via Take This To Your Heart Records, marks the band’s first new collection of songs since their 2021 record, Summer Of Pain. Staying true to their punk rock roots, the first new singles are loud and rebellious. “Safe To Say” previews this infectious sound for both old and new fans of the project.
Bad Luck. dropped a fiery music video for “Safe To Say” just last month. Alternating between red and white light, the performance shows the band in their element. That is, spilling every fiber of their being into playing the song.
The band shows no signs of slowing down and is on the road through the end of September for select shows with Oso Oso, Forever Came Calling, Hawthorne Heights, and Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. The shows will take the band up and down the East Coast, including New York, Florida, Philadelphia, and Wisconsin.
