Sevendust Unveils Powerful New Single/Video For “Everything”

Sevendust has returned with their first new single, “Everything.” The latest release is the second single from the group’s forthcoming 14th full-length album, Truth Killer, following “Fence.” Both tracks set the tone for what promises to be an explosive record. Truth Killer will arrive via Napalm Records on July 28.  “Everything” is a heavy, riff-driven song that showcases the band’s signature sound. Lajon Witherspoon‘s powerful vocals soar over the chugging guitars and pounding drums, delivering lyrics that are both raw and relatable. The chorus is particularly memorable, with Witherspoon belting out, “Don’t walk away from me/No, you’re my everything/Yeah, I… Read more »

Sevendust Rip Into Ex-Coal Chamber Frontman On 'Enemy'

For their current single, “Enemy,” Sevendust have taken a couple of cues from hip-hop. They’ve half-rapped the verse, and they’ve put their beef with another musician on wax. The song is a diatribe directed toward ex-Coal Chamber frontman Dez Fafara, who is currently in the band Devildriver. “Enemy” was written and largely sung by drummer Morgan Rose, whose wife is former Coal Chamber bassist Rayna Foss-Rose. The song, a full-on character assassination with a bruising verse and huge, melodic chorus, features such lines as, “Look at your face, look at your name/ Funny you’re a loser with only yourself to… Read more »

WWF And Hard Rock Go Together Like Bizkits, Gravy

Those WWF Smackdown spots just wouldn’t be the same without P.O.D.’s “Alive,” Creed’s “My Sacrifice” and Kid Rock’s “Cocky” blaring in the background. In many cases, shots of wrestlers powerbombing, chokeslamming and clotheslining one another are more captivating than the images in real rock videos. Let’s face it, loud rock and wrestling go together like salted bacon and farm-fresh eggs, the aggressive tones and violent visuals feeding off each other, creating a charged symbiosis of pumping testosterone. With over-the-top sound and sight, all you need is a sweat-and-blood-soaked rag under your nose to create the ultimate sensory experience. “Wrestling and… Read more »

Sevendust Crank Out Clips, Prepare For 'Golf Tour' With Creed

Now that their onstage cred is firmly established, Sevendust are looking to branch out beyond performance-based videos. The group shot two conceptual videos late last month in Toronto with director Noble Jones, who has previously worked with Roland Gift and Default. The first was for “Live Again,” the next single from the band’s latest album, Animosity. The clip concerns a girl who gets thrown out of her house by her father, who pushes her out the front door as her mother and neighbors stand by watching. “I’ve always been fascinated and disturbed by young people and children that get thrown… Read more »

Sevendust On 'Animosity' And Terror War

Sevendust’s third album, Animosity, is set for release on Tuesday (November 13). The album was in the works long before the September 11 terrorist attacks and the subsequent war on terrorism. Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose revealed about the album title, in an interview conduced shortly after the band visited ground zero, in the neighborhood of New York City that was once home to the World Trade Center. “It’s very, very unfortunately coincidental,” he said. “Obviously that title was made months before any of this stuff happened. I have tons of animosity for those that did that. Tons. We dropped a… Read more »
