When Noelle talks about her very emotional year, she has a soundtrack she was listening to during all of it. “I just listened to old shit all the time,” she explains. “I love The Postal Service. That was like a big influence, especially ‘Nonchalant,’ old Tigers Jaw, and stuff like super shoegazy, that’s my shit. But also singer-songwriter. I love the feeling that Owl City used to give me, so I am always searching for that heartstring-pull type of progression. Those really come through, and like my spacey stuff; always, always in an emo mood. So I loved having Spencer on this. That was crazy. That was a full circle crazy moment for me.”
Noelle has an awesome sense of fashion and design, so she shares the world she’s creating. “World building is my shit. I love, for instance, Nirvana. You can still find new weird connections, and they have a whole world within their band even though you know it’s way over. That’s what I always think of as stuff to leave behind when you die. But I’m like for real every aspect of it, I want to have it be a choice. …I love clothes, so naturally I needed to make some for myself and it all I guess meets in the middle. That’s the dream for me, it’s like production design or whatever, set design stuff and like clothing and stylistic stuff, all meeting in the middle as my project.”
