The Mars Volta have announced another string of North American tour dates to kick off September 13th in Minneapolis, MN and wrap up October 11th in Salt Lake City, UT. This headline tour will follow their world tour, spanning the entirety of spring and summer 2023. This news comes after the post-prog-rock group released the album Que Dios Te Maldiga Mi Corazón, a complete acoustic re-working of their 2022 reunion album, The Mars Volta, last week. The annual Boston Calling festival will return for its ninth year at Harvard Athletic Complex this May. Spanning across three days, Boston Calling will be held Memorial Day weekend from May 26-28, and today, they have announced the set times for the upcoming three-day event. With anticipated headline performances from Foo Fighters (Friday, May 26), The Lumineers (Saturday, May 27), and Paramore (Sunday, May 28), there will be several major overlapping sets. Sufjan Stevens has a history of creating ballet scores for choreographer Justin Peck. Now we’re getting our hands on a new album made up of scores from a performance commissioned by the Houston Ballet in 2019. Stevens announced he’ll be dropping the album Reflections on May 19. While the music is written by Stevens, it is performed by pianists Timo Andres and Conor Hanick. This is Stevens’ second album made up of scores.
