Bonnie Raitt Arrested For Protesting Outside Office Products Company


Bonnie Raitt is giving environmentalists something to talk about. The singer was among 20 activists, including former Doors drummer John Densmore, who were arrested on Wednesday for holding a sit-in outside an office products company in the Chicago suburb of Itasca, according to Reuters. Raitt and the others were demonstrating against the logging practices of Boise Cascade Office Products. They were handcuffed and charged with disorderly conduct. The activists were released later Wednesday from the city jail and face a small fine. CCI Picks Globix For Web Hosting


Globix Corporation has announced that Clear Channel Interactive has selected Globix to host and manage the systems infrastructure for a substantial portion of its online business. Globix will provide network software with monitoring, reporting, management, and security services. Globix is also designing and building the network architecture for CCI’s offerings. The company had previously hosted all its online radio websites in-house. Garbage Push Back Album But Reveal Track Listing


Garbage have pushed back the release of Beautiful Garbage until September, but they’re teasing fans by offering a complete track listing for their third album, which they finished recording in April. The album was recorded at drummer/producer Butch Vig’s Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, and had been expected to hit stores this summer. Beautiful Garbage will contain 13 tracks, including “Drive You Home” and “Cup of Coffee” – tunes that singer Shirley Manson wrote about in her studio diary on the band’s Web site over the winter. XM'S "Roll" Begins Broadcasting


XM Satellite Radio’s second satellite, dubbed “Roll,” has been formally handed over to XM by Boeing Satellite Systems and has begun broadcasting. Roll reached its final position in geostationary orbit at 85 degrees West Longitude, roughly above Detroit. XM took possession of Roll this afternoon, after the spacecraft completed in-orbit testing.
