Globix Corporation has announced that Clear Channel Interactive has selected Globix to host and manage the systems infrastructure for a substantial portion of its online business.
Globix will provide network software with monitoring, reporting, management, and security services. Globix is also designing and building the network architecture for CCI’s offerings. The company had previously hosted all its online radio websites in-house.
Clear Channel Interactive is a division of Clear Channel Worldwide, Inc., which owns or operates approximately 1170 radio and 19 television stations in the United States, and has equity interests in more than 240 radio stations internationally. The company also operates some 700,000 outdoor advertising displays around the world and produces 25,000 concerts and events annually.
“In searching for an Internet services provider, Globix was the only company with outstanding data centers integrated with a top-quality content delivery network. This integrated architecture offers performance advantages that we could not find anywhere else,” said Michael Abrams, president of operations at Clear Channel Interactive.
“Even more important to our choice was the specialized and knowledgeable technical staff to manage our outsourced infrastructure around the clock. The Globix professional services team is helping build a redundant and scalable architecture tailored to our needs,” Abrams continued.
“Globix has engineered its world-class data centers, content distribution network and backbone, and managed services together into an integrated services platform for enterprise solutions. Clear Channel Interactive is pioneering the way radio audiences can benefit through interaction with the online medium, and we are pleased to be providing the critical infrastructure and managed services to make this happen,” said Marc H. Bell, chairman and CEO of Globix. “Outsourcing to Globix allows Clear Channel to scale quickly and efficiently as its media and entertainment applications expand, and will ensure its audiences superior reliability, speed, and network quality.”
