This week we chinwag about the lack of well-known female producers in the music industry. Afterward we chat with music producer, Esjay Jones. Esjay is a South African-born producer & songwriter now based between Los Angeles and Joshua Tree, California, who had her first major cut in the U.S. alongside co-writer Justin Tranter in 2013 with the single “I Choose U” by TimeFlies on Def Jam Records. Since then, she has worked with Sean Kingston, Jeffree Star, Olivia Holt, Escape The Fate, Mystery Skulls with Nile Rodgers and Brandy, Chester Rushing (‘Stranger Things’), Alien Ant Farm, and many others.
Esjay has had over a decade of success in the music Industry: during the first part, she cemented herself as one of South Africa’s top rock vocalists fronting Durban-based band, Stealing Love Jones. The band achieved mainstream success with 4 #1 Singles, as well as sharing the stage with major international acts like Fall Out Boy, Violent Femmes, Seether, Jimmy Eat World, and many more.
She is currently a part of the production team for the re-imagined ‘GREY DAZE’ album (Chester Bennington reels from 1994-1997), featuring Head & Munkey from Korn, Ryan Shuck of Orgy, Chris Traynor of Bush, and more.
The Rockstar Dad Show is back with a new episode and they have plenty to chat about, so grab and snack and get comfy—it’s time to tune in.
Comebacks are on the agenda this week, with QR codes and cursive handwriting making their way into 2020. Plus, Jaret and Gary dive into conversation about Happy Meals, Showtime’s Shameless, and more.
Later they welcome seasoned musician Jon Snodgrass to the show. Between talking the Descendants, Jon’s upcoming album Tace, and writing jingles, the group chats family, siblings, and all the things that come with being “dad”.
[imgfull][/imgfull] We are pleased to present the first album focused episode of Disposable Heroes! Ras MG takes us back to the sites, smells and sounds of 30 years ago, these glorious years being the time of recording the monumental album, Sublime’s “40 oz. to Freedom”. Many people don’t know that Marshall played the drums on that record, which in our opinion would not be same without him, as you will hear in the conversation! The drum parts on 40 oz. to Freedom are even part finesse and fire, it’s as if a 5 star jazz drummer was commissioned to play reggae,… Read more »
There’s so much new TV coming up in the next two weeks and Geek Girl Riot is here to get you hyped.
On this week’s episode of The Rockstar Dad Show, the guys have a lot to be excited about. Not only is it the first football Sunday of the year, they’re also recording a new Bowling For Soup album in the Poconos.
Listen in as they share what they’ve been up to since they left for the studio, talk about how their kids handle losing, and buy some Robux. Later, they’ll bring brothers Ted and Rob Felicetti to the air.
Ted might not technically be a dad, but he does have a cat and we’re calling that close enough. Jaret and Gary reminisce on old memories with him and talk about getting his band, Don’t Panic, back together after ten years.
Rob plays bass for Bowling For Soup and set up their destination recording (with a couple lies about the air conditioning situation.) Hit play below to hear their chat!
Dude, we’re getting the band back together!
It’s been a long time since the Bowling For Soup guys have been together IRL so they’re making up for it by hitting the studio. Listen in this week as Jaret and Gary chat about their plans for new music and prepare to leave home during quarantine.
Speaking of quarantine, we’ve been “grounded” for awhile now… and not much has changed. The guys talk about how fast the time has gone before welcoming this week’s guest to the air.
Jack Forman is the president of talent agency BiCoastal Productions and he calls in during nap time to chat about all the loops COVID-19 has thrown in our way—and the family time it’s brought with it too.
It’s a new world we’re living in… but at least sports are back. This week, tune in as Jaret and Gary chat fantasy leagues, coaches, and foiled tailgating plans.
Of course if you’re not headed to the field, you’re probably still partaking in less-than-active activities. The guys cover those too, from comic books to Minecraft dragons, before welcoming this week’s guests.
The super-duper ska group The Inevitables calls in to talk about their new music and the fantastical story that goes with it. Made up of Vinnie Fiorello & Obi Fernandez, the bandmates and dads share how they maintain a work balance and “break the cycle” with their own families.
Listen Up! This time on episode 718, a college football team saved a rock climber who got stuck dangling by her hair, a small rodent has been re-discovered in Africa after not having been seen for almost 50 years, a cyclist in Cambodia is raising money and melting our hearts and needs your help to fight hunger, an Australian woman was rescued by her husband after a shark attack AND Brad Pitt is insanely hot.. but which version of him is the hottest? …enjoy! The Brett Davern Show is streamed LIVE daily at 10am (eastern) 7am (pacific) on idobi Radio… Read more »
What burger is the best burger? This is the topic on Jaret and Gary’s minds during the latest episode of The Rockstar Dad Show. They touch on the In N’ Out vs. Whataburger debate before diving COVID talk.
Schools are reopening and kids are going back – see what the dads have to say about preparation and precaution. Later in the show they welcome Clint Lowery, guitarist for legendary rock band Sevendust.
Before Clint can share his dad resume, he has a few things to set straight about stolen dressing rooms. Listen in as they chat about touring smarter, band life, and John Mulaney.
