Tree River is about to release a brand new album, Time Being, on April 1 via Big Scary Monsters. I caught up with Trevor Friedman and Phil Cohen to learn how the two started to collaborate on music, how Time Being came to life, and how Max Bemis of Say Anything got into the mix.

I got introduced to them in Salt Lake City where we both crossed paths thru mutual friends, I asked them to come by the studio once they came to L.A. and I got to learn all about them, I checked out their music and was thrilled with what I heard, I didn’t really know these guys until now but I’m glad I do, and you’ll be glad too.

This week I have song writer and front man Brendan Scholz, I came across their music accidentally on Spotify, I looked more into the band and realized I’ve known Brendan all along, he’s from Las Vegas and I think he’s one of the most underrated musicians in the punk rock world, I love what he does and I wanted to have him on my show to talk about his life. I think they’re a great band and you should check them out. Here’s his story.

He’s about to release his third EP; he is a co-host of a successful Star Wars podcast and is even in the midst of a house renovation.
