In the promotional run-up to the April 13 release of its new album, Ohio experimental rock group Foxy Shazam tapped a curious outlet to promote the release: Chatroulette.

Kiss will kick off their 35th anniversary tour, dubbed “Kiss Alive 35,” in “Rock City” Detroit. The Gods of Thunder will play two concerts at Motor City’s Cobo Arena, the venue where the band recorded their classic Alive! live album in 1975. To mark the occasion, Kiss will perform Alive! in its entirety at the Cobo shows, as well as their greatest hits and songs off their upcoming album Sonic Boom, out as a Walmart exclusive starting Oct. 6. All Time Low has just confirmed a string of dates on the main stage of this summer’s Vans Warped Tour, along with earlier support dates for We the Kings. The band will be touring in support of its forthcoming release, Nothing Personal, in stores July 7. A pair of the biggest bands in rock, Radiohead and R.E.M., hit the studio recently to begin work on their next albums. While both groups are in the beginning stages of writing and recording, they offered up some early details in a series of interviews. Radiohead have reconvened with longtime producer Nigel Godrich to start work on the follow-up of 2007’s In Rainbows. Despite the success of online retailers, explosion of Internet downloads and high-profile closings of Virgin Megastores and Tower Records stores, bricks-and-mortar record stores are not all spinning toward oblivion.
