So, I hear you guys are doing a world tour together next year for the citizens of earth. Sounds like you’ll be spending quite a lot of time together—on stage, on planes, during (un)comfortably long van drives, pranking each other. Even though you haven’t announced the North American leg of the tour (yet), it’s a match that pop punkers everywhere are pining over—myself included.
New Found Glory brought their ongoing quest to prove pop punk’s not dead to the UK earlier this month — and with support from The Story So Far, Candy Hearts, State Champs, and Only Rivals, they certainly made their message heard loud and clear.
YouTube personalities Patty Walters and Jarrod Alonge have teamed up to form Sunrise Skater Kids for their new smash hit “Pop Punk Pizza Party” maybe the most prototypical pop-punk song to ever exist? The description of the song reads… The most generic, cheesiest pop punk song ever devised! Let this be your summer anthem. Generic? Yes. Cheesy? Yes. Hilarious but surprisingly catchy as hell? Also, yes. Check out the song below. If you’re a fan you can download the mp3 in the video’s description on YouTube. httpvh://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4mKk4x2zsg#t=44 The Revolutionary lyrics to “Pop Punk Pizza Party” by Sunrise Skater Kids I… Read more »
After much speculation, it has been confirmed that New Found Glory will be heading out on tour this fall with Set Your Goals, The Wonder Years, and Man Overboard on the aptly named Pop Punk’s Not Dead tour.
New Jersey pop-punk outfit Man Overboard released an album Tuesday that every pop punk band will be trying to duplicate in the future.
At the very least, give credit to New Found Glory and Good Charlotte for getting teenage girls enthusiastic about rock that has real guitars and real drums. More than that, those two pop-punk bands deserve to be saluted for the energy and enthusiasm they displayed at their show Wednesday night at the University of California, Irvine’s Bren Events Center. But no one can applaud them for nuance or finesse. Their performances are like this: Go from zero to 60 in 6.5 seconds, and keep it there. The kids who filled the Bren Center loved it. They screamed, sang along (especially… Read more »
There’s nothing quite like turning on your favorite comedy show or swiping through stand-up bits on Instagram Reels and coming across a joke about your favorite pop-punk band. We’ve collected our seven favorite comedy moments that tap into the world of pop-punk and emo with iconic bands. And that’s not all—idobi Radio wants to give you the gift of laughter with a hint of emo on the side. We’ve got the ultimate hookup for your When We Were Young weekend in Vegas.… Read more »
Following the June release of his album Tha Carter VI (which features a song with mgk), Lil Wayne dropped two new singles that venture into the world of metal and pop-punk. Of course, he isn’t new to the alternative sphere, hopping onstage with Good Charlotte at When We Were Young 2023 and a crossover with blink-182. Today, July 15, the “Lollipop” artist dropped his new feature on Keyawna Nikole‘s track, “BLEED.” Nikole, a rising alt star effortlessely intertwines emo, goth, and heavy rock sonics throughout her discography, and even collabed with Sleeping With Sirens‘ Kellin Quinn on “SECRETS.” Check out… Read more »
After releasing “your name forever,” a heartfelt tribute to the late Luke “The Dingo” Trembath, mgk (formerly Machine Gun Kelly) returns with “cliché” — a sharp pivot into a much more pop-leaning sound with a rock undercurrent. The track trades the grit of his earlier pop-punk output for polished hooks over a driving beat, signaling a new sonic direction rooted more in melody than distortion. Don’t even get me STARTED on how deeply that chorus has already burrowed into my head. Ahead of its official release, “cliché” made headlines when mgk was seen driving through Hollywood with the unreleased song… Read more »
Oh, they leave quite an impression! Daisy Grenade just dropped an utterly iconic cover of Sabrina Carpenter‘s “Taste.” And we are dazzled, though not surprised, because this duo can perfectly breathe new life into any track, including their previous covers “Polly” by Nirvana and “King For A Day” by Pierce The Veil and Kellin Quinn. The pair share on social media, “our cover of @sabrinacarpenter’s “Taste” is out now!!!!! listen, live, laugh, and love!!!!!” Check out Daisy Grenade’s punk-rock cover of “Taste” below. Daisy Grenade is currently wrapping up their dates with Meet Me @ The Altar and Knuckle Puck on the State Champs tour. Then, in… Read more »
