Plain White T's '1,2,3,4' goes platinum


“1,2,3,4,” the current hit single from Plain White T’s, has gone platinum, having sold over 1 million digital copies. The song appears on the band’s latest album, Big Bad World, which was recorded with Grammy nominated producer Johnny K and is the follow up to its 2006 major label debut album, Every Second Counts. Sales of “1,2,3,4” have been fueled by the popularity of its companion video, which caught fire after its release in February. Plain White T’s Channel Weezer, Try to Top “Delilah”


Even with the overwhelming success of the acoustic ballad “Hey There, Delilah” last year – which earned the band two Grammy nominations – Plain White T’s lead singer Tom Higgenson says he’s been writing songs for the band’s next record since they finished their last one. Ashlee Simpson sets April date for next album


Ashlee Simpson has set an April 22 release date for her third Geffen album, “Bittersweet World,” which features production from Timbaland and the Neptunes’ Chad Hugo. The first official single, “Little Miss Obsessive,” boasts guest vocals from the Plain White T’s Tom Higginson. The track has yet to land on any Billboard charts. Released digitally in December, album track “Out of My Head (Ay Ya Ya)” also failed to chart but has sold 117,000 digital downloads in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Jack White working on three albums


Jack White has revealed he he is working on three albums. The White Stripes/Raconteurs man explained his current projects while discussing the fallout caused by his first band scrapping their the rest of their 2007 tour dates because drummer Meg White was suffering from acute anxiety. “Half of me was glad because I have three other records I’m working on, and I didn’t have any time to work on them,” he told the Seattle Times. “I was really getting worried that I might have to not do these things I wanted to do because of the touring.” White would not… Read more »

Casey Calvert, Guitarist for Hawthorne Heights, Dead at 26


Casey Calvert, guitarist for post punk/ rock band Hawthorne Heights, was found dead early Saturday morning. Calvert was 26-years-old. According to several accounts Calvert appeared healthy on Friday night while spending time with friends before going to sleep for the night. Those same reports indicated that Calvert passed away at some point while sleeping. Plain White T's Planning Foreign Conquest
