John Reis

Very happy to have my guest John Reis on the show this week. John has played or is currently playing in such bands as Rocket From The Crypt, Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu, Me First + The Gimme Gimmes and many many more. John is a legend. If you’ve ever wondered how musicians can play in multiple different bands at the same time well check this out. We also talk about the 80’s and 90’s San Diego (violent) punk scene and how he prepares to do guided tours at the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas. This episode is a fun one!

Brendan Scholz- MERCY MUSIC

This week I have song writer and front man Brendan Scholz, I came across their music accidentally on Spotify, I looked more into the band and realized I’ve known Brendan all along, he’s from Las Vegas and I think he’s one of the most underrated musicians in the punk rock world, I love what he does and I wanted to have him on my show to talk about his life. I think they’re a great band and you should check them out. Here’s his story.

We’ll Never Shut the Goddamn Door

Ten years ago, four plucky young men from Las Vegas exploded onto the scene. No one quite knew what to make of them, but through a combination of more wit, a better kiss, a hotter touch, and better fuck[ing lyrics], they made a name for themselves.

When We Were Young is just around the corner, but the question that has been on so many fans’ minds since the lineup announcement in October 2024 is: Will Never Shout Never be reuniting to perform at the festival? Included on the original admat, speculation about NSN mouthpiece Christofer Drew’s return was quickly met with reminders of his consistent stance on retirement. Weeks before the 2024 WWWY lineup was unveiled, Drew told fans on X, “I’m looking forward to painting and modeling full time in the future quitting music was the best decision for my happiness.  Thank you all for… Read more »

Bands Reuniting at When We Were Young 2025

If When We Were Young Fest has taught us anything, it’s that nostalgia still rules the alternative music scene. Each year, the Las Vegas-based festival manages to one-up itself with its lineup, and 2025 is no exception. With the reunion of Panic! At The Disco at the heart of this year’s lineup, the festival will see several other bands reunite.  Panic! At The Disco Few bands defined the 2000s emo boom quite like Panic! At The Disco. From their breakout 2005 debut, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, to Brendon Urie’s time on Broadway, Panic! became one of the most… Read more »
