John Reis

Very happy to have my guest John Reis on the show this week. John has played or is currently playing in such bands as Rocket From The Crypt, Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu, Me First + The Gimme Gimmes and many many more. John is a legend. If you’ve ever wondered how musicians can play in multiple different bands at the same time well check this out. We also talk about the 80’s and 90’s San Diego (violent) punk scene and how he prepares to do guided tours at the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas. This episode is a fun one!

Brendan Scholz- MERCY MUSIC

This week I have song writer and front man Brendan Scholz, I came across their music accidentally on Spotify, I looked more into the band and realized I’ve known Brendan all along, he’s from Las Vegas and I think he’s one of the most underrated musicians in the punk rock world, I love what he does and I wanted to have him on my show to talk about his life. I think they’re a great band and you should check them out. Here’s his story.

We’ll Never Shut the Goddamn Door

Ten years ago, four plucky young men from Las Vegas exploded onto the scene. No one quite knew what to make of them, but through a combination of more wit, a better kiss, a hotter touch, and better fuck[ing lyrics], they made a name for themselves.

Excitingly, he live-debuted his cover of Goo Goo Dolls‘ “Iris” with Julia Wolf, who also appeared at Warped Tour and is set to support him on select dates on his tour. Waterparks Hope It’ll All Make Sense “ANY MINUTE NOW”

Following the release of “IF LYRICS WERE CONFIDENTIAL,” Waterparks has unleashed their new song, “ANY MINUTE NOW.” On social media, the band shares, “’ANY MINUTE NOW’ is about the uncertainty of growing up. When you’re a kid, everything feels so confusing and overwhelming, but you think, ‘When I’m older, everything will make sense.’ Then you’re a teenager and you’re like, ‘This is all bullshit, but everything will make sense when I’m an adult, the rest of this will be figured out.’ Then you become an adult and you’re like, ‘Fuck, because I know to have even more questions now, things… Read more »

In true disco fashion, The Aces are keeping the fun going all year long with the forthcoming release of Gold Star Baby deluxe edition, due out in February 2026. Excitingly, the band released “Square One,” ahead of the LP drop and is giving the finger to exes who definitely deserve it. Drummer Alisa Ramirez shared, “I was in a place emotionally when we were writing ‘Square One,’ where although a lot of time had passed since a heartbreak, the smallest thing could trigger all those feelings again. I felt really frustrated with the process of healing. I had to reckon with… Read more »
