MTV sticks with reality


The 12th season of MTV’s reality series, which is scheduled to go into production in January, will be shot in Las Vegas, and air in July. The 11th season of the “Real World,” which recently wrapped production in Chicago, is set to premiere in January. At a time when broadcast networks are backing down on their commitment to reality programming, MTV continues to have confidence in the genre. Britney Spears Concert to be Broadcast Live with Dolby Digital 5.1 Sound


HBO and Dolby Laboratories announced today that HBO’s live concert event, “Britney Spears: Live from Las Vegas,” will be broadcast in Dolby ® Digital 5.1 sound on November 18, 8:00 p.m. (ET). Psychedelic Furs And Echo & The Bunnymen Map Out Tour


Two ’80s alternative legends, the Psychedelic Furs and Echo & the Bunnymen, will tour together this fall. The Furs will be supporting of their live album, Beautiful Chaos (Greatest Hits Live), due out November 20. The album also features a new studio track, “Alive.” Echo & the Bunnymen also have a recent release, Flowers. Britney Spears Delays U.S. Tour Due to Flu


Pop star Britney Spears has delayed the start of her U.S. tour by five days to Oct. 31 after being laid low by the flu, her label said. The tour will now kick off in Washington at the MCI Center, Jive Records said in a statement issued late on Tuesday. It was originally supposed to begin in Miami on Oct. 26, but will now end there on Dec. 19. The Oct. 28 date in Tampa, Florida, has been rescheduled for Dec. 18. 311 Inconvenienced By 7-Eleven Over T-Shirt Design


“No Shoes” or “No Shirt” will get you “No Service” at 7-Eleven stores, and treading on the convenience store’s copyrighted logo will get you a warning from corporate headquarters. 311 learned that lesson when they recently received a cease-and-desist letter from 7-Eleven Inc., according to the band’s management company. The rap-and-reggae rockers have been selling a T-shirt that features the familiar 7-Eleven logo with the numeral “7” replaced by a “3.” They’ve since stopped selling the shirts on their current tour in support of From Chaos, which winds down November 1 in Las Vegas. Judas Priest And Anthrax Reschedule U.S. Tour


Judas Priest and Anthrax have rescheduled their tour for January and February of next year. The tour will kick off January 18 in Los Angeles and end February 17 in Washington, D.C.
