The Home Inside My Head shows Real Friends growing older but certainly not up, with lyrics reading like vulnerable journal entries backed by their most impressive instrumental work to date.
Real Friends are one of those bands who, although their musical repertoire is far from extensive, have yet to put out a bad song. Their latest EP Put Yourself Back Together is no exception – but there’s no sign of the band pushing their limits or trying something new.
Think about if someone approached you in a record store asking for something that blends the unique vocal sound of Hit the Lights, the emo power of The Early November and the homegrown pop-punk sound that The Starting Line have perfected. If that person were savvy enough they would hand you a copy of Think Fast from Just Left, the band’s second album and debut for Victory imprint Standby Records.
Kicking off a short run of headline tour dates this week, State Champs have released a new music video for their track, “(For The) Hell Of It,” a reimagining of their track “Hell Of It” from their recently issued self-titled album. State Champs is officially celebrating a decade of their album Around The World And Back, which features the smash hit, “Secrets.” The album originally dropped on October 16, 2015, via Pure Noise Records. On October 7, the band revealed the title track of their forthcoming record, which was preceded by “You’ll Get Nothing And Like It” and “Your Face As An Effigy.” The band shares that “Ephemera” is the “the boiling point of the record.
