Stars, rescuers rock in N.Y. concert tribute


Paul McCartney, Billy Joel and Elton John led music stars honoring the victims and rescue workers of the World Trade Center attack in a concert that celebrated the energy and pride of New York. Joel tapped into the city’s emotion singing “New York State of Mind,” stirring a crowd at Madison Square Garden that included rows of uniformed police, firefighters and their families dancing, singing and screaming at the more than five-hour gala. XM to Broadcast VH1's 'Concert for New York City'


XM Satellite Radio will broadcast “The Concert for New York City,” featuring dozens of the biggest names in entertainment, live at 7 pm Saturday on both its VH1 and “Special X” channels. “XM is proud to carry VH1 among its 100 channels of amazing radio, and proud to broadcast Saturday’s benefit concert for New York City,” said XM President and CEO Hugh Panero. 'NSync Takes Home Three Blockbuster Entertainment Awards


‘NSync was the top musical act at the seventh annual Blockbuster Entertainment Awards Tuesday (April 10) night at L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium, winning Favorite CD (No Strings Attached), Favorite Single (“Bye, Bye, Bye”), and Favorite Pop Group. The major music categories were mostly split, however, with a poodle-haired Christina Aguilera snagging Favorite Female Artist, Eminem taking Favorite Male Artist, and Destiny’s Child walking off with Favorite Group of the Year. Kicking off a short run of headline tour dates this week, State Champs have released a new music video for their track, “(For The) Hell Of It,” a reimagining of their track “Hell Of It” from their recently issued self-titled album. Frank Zummo, iconic pop-punk drummer best-known for his role in Sum 41, is ready to tell his story—the full story. Zummo announced his forthcoming book, Unbreakable Rhythm: My Journey Through Music, Wellness & Mental Strength, with music journalist Jason Pettigrew. The book, set for release on November 11 via Modern Drummer Publications, came to life in 2023 during Zummo’s School of Rock Workshop.
