Turnstile GLOW ON with their new Converse collab. The hardcore band turned viral music act will release shoes with the iconic company on Friday, January 26. The announcement was made via a YouTube video directed by bandmates Brandon Yates and Pat McCroy. The capsule collection will feature two different styles with varying designs on each. “Diamonds Aren’t Forever,” but the memory of Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes and Static Dress’ Olli Appleyard is. On January 17, at their stop in Liverpool, England, Sykes announced to the crowd, “Who wants to hear an oldie?” and brought out Appleyard to join him for the song. GHØSTKID has announced a new album, Hollywood Suicide, and dropped the first single from the record, “FSU.” The new full-length comes out on March 22 via Century Media Records, ahead of their upcoming spring tour with Black Veil Brides, Creeper, and Dark Divine. Fresh off a major tour alongside Motionless In White, Knocked Loose is ready to hit stages across Europe and the UK beginning in February. The tour begins on February 15 in Paris and concludes on March 10 in Leeds at the legendary O2 Forum. As of now, no official openers or direct support acts have been announced. Rain City Drive has reimagined their latest single, “Frozen,” via Thriller Records. The alt-hardcore act originally released the single in September but has given it an almost holiday-edge decoration to it. The first version was featured on Apple Music’s Breaking Hard Rock playlist. Reworking songs isn’t new; however, the band incorporated post-hardcore sounds with poppy beats and melodies in “Frozen (Reimagined)” while sprinkling in some holiday belles, which helps in slowing down the quicker pacing of the original. For metal and heavy rock fans of the Midwest, today is a big announcement day. Sonic Temple Festival 2024 officially shared their lineup for their upcoming event. Taking place May 16-19, festival-goers can see a major fest at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus. Of course, the headliners are worth the travel and ticket price alone. This week I have long time friend Eric Bootow from band Jughead’s Revenge, he also plays for hardcore legendary SoCal band Fourth In Line, and Sederra. He’s the go to bass guy in the OC for punk rock bands. I met him through Efrem Schulz of Death By Stereo and Eric was one of my first friends when I moved back to SoCal in 2003.
