The Black Eyed Peas scored their first No. 1 album on the U.S. pop charts on Wednesday, buoyed by heavy promotion for its first release in four years. The Peas also claimed the top two spots on the singles chart. The hip-hop act topped the Billboard 200 with “The E.N.D.,” which sold 304,000 copies during the week ending June 14, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It was the group’s best sales week ever. Coldplay’s Chris Martin recently talked about what’s in his stereo, Viva la Vida’s next single and the “Viva”-related lawsuits the band is currently facing. Paramore will release the follow-up to their breakout album Riot! in September, the band’s label confirmed yesterday. “We made a record that is exactly what we set out to make,” fiery frontwoman Hayley Williams said on the band’s LiveJournal page. “There’s fast, there’s slow, and in between… happy, angry, desperate and over it. Blink-182 and Morrissey producer Jerry Finn has been taken off life support after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage last month.
