The Vans Warped Tour 2025 lineup announcements keep rolling in, adding nostalgia to their 30th anniversary return this summer. This week, the festival revealed that the MILLIONAIRE$ duo would bring their neon-drenched energy to all three Warped weekends. A new era of Memphis May Fire is upon us. The band unleashed their brand-new single and accompanying music for “Chaotic.” This marks their first release since 2023’s collab with GARZI, “GrowingUp.” and “Misery” featuring Atreyu. “‘Chaotic’ embodies the visceral urge to stir chaos in our lives as a desperate attempt to drown out the pain of reality,” frontman Matty Mullins explains. “I think I crave chaotic/I don’t taste the pain when I stay neurotic/So why would I want to change,” sings Mullins over trashing guitar tones and ahead of guttural, hard-hitting breakdown. This week I have friend and fellow drummer Chase Vernon, when I first met him my old band did shows with his old band Super Whatevr, and we’ve been friends ever since. Since that band dissolved, he’s played for bands such as: Magic Whatever, Garzi, Royal & The Serpent, and now is currently playing drums for the band Games We Play.We talk about how he got his start, how he’s continued to get the next gig, and what it’s like being a hired drummer. We also share a rehearsal spot together, which I’m stoked about.
