This week on idobi Warped Radio, TX2 storms the mic to talk about kicking egos to the curb, blowing up as an emo influencer, and turning self-doubt into a full-blown movement. From tackling the toxicity of the alternative scene to building a safe space for outcasts, TX2 gets real about the battles they’ve fought—and the ones they’re still taking on.
They dive into their mission to support the LGBTQIA+ community, name-drop heroes like Rage Against The Machine and Green Day, and explain why political music still matters. Plus, they dish on mixing rock and rap, their favorite collabs (From First To Last, Ice Nine Kills, and more), going viral on TikTok, meeting Sum 41, and why “they will not erase us” is more than a lyric—it’s a war cry.
Oh, and there’s talk of ass-kicking. Naturally.
I have new band Repenter on my show. I’ve been friends with their guitar player for about 15 years now, he’s been in bands, was even a record executive at Warner Brothers for a while and now recorded new music with Ross Robinson (Slipknot, Glassjaw, Korn, From First To Last etc) their band sounds nothing like those bands, and they have a refreshing sound, take a listen!!
Tune in Wednesday night for The Gunz Show with guests Justin Pierre of Motion City Soundtrack, Matt Good of From First To Last, and Major League.

Believe it or not, in April 2015, Sabrina Carpenter released her debut album Eyes Wide Open. (yes, she has been grinding in the music industry well before the launch of “Espresso.”) This isn’t the only important record released a decade ago. Notably, 2015 was the release year of some of the most iconic records in the alternative scene—from indie to pop-punk. These 2015 albums are turning 10 this April 2025, and we still can’t believe it. On September 24, FEVER 333 lead vocalist Jason Butler took to Instagram to share that the Welcome To Tha Function tour with ZULU, HUE, Move, Bucki Sugar, and CLIQUE is canceled. In an Instagram video, Butler says to the camera, “I come to you admittedly a bit uncomfortable and afraid, but grateful for the opportunity to be honest. Recently, I’ve been faced with my most significant and challenging struggle with depression. And in a rather unusual turn of events, I became deeply depressed at a time where one would expect to be excitedly anticipating the release of a new album and a tour to support it.” Read… Read more »
EDM DJ Illenium isn’t a stranger to the alternative scene. During his Los Angeles, CA, shows on February 2 and 3 at SoFi Stadium, he brought out several special guests. The tour is to support his self-titled independent release, which arrived last spring. Illenium’s exploration into the alt scene isn’t unheard of. From First To Lasts’ Sonny Moore ventured into dubstep in the early 2000s, which kicked off the blurring of genres and the possibility of experimenting with different sounds. Chad Kowal began his life in music on the drums after receiving a drum kit from his parents. He was learning some of the trickiest songs around in the metalcore-glory days of the early 2010s, including many of my personal favorites: The Devil Wears Prada and A Day To Remember. This led to the formation of Farewell, My Love in 2011. A band who stopped by idobi Radio for a session back in 2016 and the project I met Chad with. By that time, he was no longer drumming but the primary songwriter and vocalist. That change happened back in… Read more »
Mixing EDM and metalcore is on the rise. The Amity Affliction is the most recent artist to jump on this trend and has reimagined their song “Show Me Your God” with DJ PROBLM CHLD. The bouncy trance, sometimes dubstep-esqe beat, is a different way to listen to the Australian act. Earlier this year, the group also dropped their new album, Not Without My Ghosts, which includes features from phem and posthumous rapper Louie Knuxx. With reworked songs, sometimes it can take time to get used to new sounds, flow, and even sometimes fewer vocals. But guitarist Dan Brown says, “I… Read more »
