*NSYNC's Lance Bass Recovering From Minor Surgery


*NSYNC singer Lance Bass recently underwent an outpatient “surgical procedure” to correct an irregular heartbeat, his publicist told Reuters on Thursday (May 16). The procedure was performed several weeks ago in order for the singer to be able to pass the intensive training required to become the world’s first pop singer to take a Russian Soyuz rocket to the International Space Station. The surgery was an outpatient procedure and Bass is doing well. Joan Jett has covered the Beatles song “The Word” as part of a charity drive to support breast cancer awareness. Jett’s recording is a bonus track on It’s All About Eve (Music For The Cure), a project organized by Fore Reel Entertainment and slated for release on June 13, with 100 percent of the proceeds slated to go to the T.J. Martell Foundation and the Libby Ross Foundation. Celine Dion’s first studio album since 1997’s multiplatinum Let’s Talk About Love will finally hit stores on March 26. The trophies used at last week’s MTV Awards were tonight reported to be back in the safekeeping of police after being stolen earlier this week. Thieves swiped 21 gongs, worth about £6,500, from MTV headquarters in Oxford Street, central London, on Monday or Tuesday. Vedder, McLachlan, Crowes Cover Beatles For 'Sam'


Eddie Vedder, Sarah McLachlan, the Black Crowes and 14 other artists will deliver their takes on Beatles classics for the soundtrack to the Sean Penn drama “I Am Sam.” The album, due January 8, also features Ben Folds, the Wallflowers, Paul Westerberg, Nick Cave and Ben Harper, among others, according to a V2 Records spokesperson.
