Photo credit: Tom Barnes December 8, 2012: I’ve recently graduated university, I’m working a customer service job while I try to figure out my future, and I’m standing inside London’s Wembley Arena, screaming my lungs out to You Me At Six. Since then, I’ve talked about this moment a lot: That time I flew to London, a trip built around one of my favorite bands. You Me At Six was celebrating the end of an album cycle with their largest show to date and as soon as the “Final Night of Sin” was announced, I knew I had to be… Read more »

We are so close to Paramore releasing This is Why that it’s about to put us in a coma. If you were at their Nashville release party, then you got another peek into their sixth studio album. During an encore, the band played the brand new song “Running Out of Time”. It’s already possibly the most relatable song yet for us non-Type A people out there. Hayley Williams told the crowd, “This is a song about how I’m always late to everything. It’s not that deep… it’s really not that deep. Unless you want to think about the planet dying,… Read more »
— As UK music festivals go, the Phoenix Festival doesn’t have the storied history of Glastonbury or Reading. It only ran for five years, between 1993 and ’97, but it was located pretty close to my home in the Midlands region of England when I was growing up, and so I went to the 1995 event and the two that followed. The 1996 Phoenix Festival is the festival that I judge all festivals on. So high was the bar it set, I’ve yet to see it be bettered (and I’ve attended Glastonburys, Readings, Coachellas, Riot Fests, Rocklahomas, Download/Doningtons, and more… Read more »

— Today we talk about the next band we want Paramore to collab with, Rebecca Black’s new single, and Lana Del Rey’s announcement. — Our Dream Collab While some are dreaming of sugar plum fairies, we are dreaming of a collab between Paramore and The 1975. Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams talked to KROQ recently about Matt Healy saying, “He was really encouraging. He saw me talk about one of their songs and he wrote this very long thing about ‘This Is Why’ and about how he’s come to every Manchester show that we’ve ever played and he just loves the… Read more »
