iTunes brings back the B-side


As a throwback to the old days of the two-song 45 rpm vinyl record, the iTunes Store launched a new “D45” section Tuesday, featuring discounted prices on packs of two digital song downloads. Just like old 45s, the iTunes D45 selection includes a popular single accompanied by a B-side song. Prices on the D45s range from $1.49 to $1.99. “iTunes is bringing this concept to a new age with D45s — two great tracks at an equally great price,” the iTunes Store reads. Maroon 5 expands new album with DVD, B-sides


Maroon 5’s 2007 album, “It Won’t Be Soon Before Long,” will be reissued in expanded form July 8. The A&M/Octone package will include a bonus DVD with four music videos and a full concert shot last year in Montreal. In addition, the original CD is bolstered with five B-sides: “Infatuation,” “Miss You Love You,” “Until You’re Over Me,” “Story” and “Losing My Mind.” Also tacked onto the track list is “If I Never See Your Face Again,” Maroon 5’s new single featuring Rihanna. In 1994, a dark, brutal album turned music upside down and became a modern masterpiece. U2's Hits LP To Include B-Sides Album, Bonus DVD


Like the greatest-hits package that preceded it, the upcoming U2: The Best of 1990-2000 will include a limited edition B-sides album. Green Day Finalize B-Sides CD


Following last year’s greatest hits album, International Superhits, Green Day will further anthologize their history with Shenanigans, a compilation of B-sides and rarities, due in July. Sum 41 Plan DVD, Live B-Sides, Monthlong Tour
