This week I have Tyler Fortney who is a musical director, songwriter, and a producer. He’s worked with bands like: The Neighbourhood, She Wants Revenge, The Wanted, Atreyu, Almost Monday etc… I met him when he first played bass for band American Eyes and we talk about how far he’s come in his career this week and what he has coming up!
In true Matt Skiba fashion, he has shared a somewhat cryptic post on social media indicating that Alkaline Trio is in the studio working on new music. In his post, he doesn’t express if the band is recording what would be their tenth full-length album, but he does reveal that they are working alongside producer Cameron Webb once again. Hardcore three-piece Drain have released their boisterous cover of the Descendents’ 1985 single “Good Good Things” via Epitaph Records. The classic punk-rock track which assisted in launching the Descendents into fame was featured on their sophomore album I Don’t Want to Grow Up. Drain’s rendition of “Good Good Things” captures a similar essence as the Descendents’ version, albeit with a more modern punk twist that showcases vocalist Sammy Ciaramitaro’s melodic prowess. Sadly, it may be a moment before we receive any substantial news from the members of Rage Against The Machine in regard to their rescheduled European and North American tour dates. After vocalist Zach De la Rocha sustained a leg injury in Chicago during the band’s US reunion tour in July, he persevered through the remainder of the tour performing while seated. Unfortunately, due to the severity of Zach De la Rocha’s Achilles tear, the band was forced to cancel their European show dates and their 2023 North American tour dates.
