Backstreet's Back: Tour Resumes With A.J. And Lots Of Love

At the band’s first show since A.J. McLean left a rehabilitation center where he was treated for alcoholism, depression and anxiety, more than 14,000 fans at the Bradley Center welcomed the group back Friday with screams and shouts of “We love you, A.J.” The Backstreeters themselves, however, welcomed A.J. back with Silly String, dousing the mustachioed singer with the sticky stuff, along with hugs, as they wrapped up their first show in almost two months. While that might have been the group’s playful way of saying, “Welcome back, bro,” the Boys did take time out to thank their fans for… Read more »

Rock And Rain At RFK

Fat chance Melanie Szepvolgyi is going to forget this year’s HFStival. Out of the 30-plus bands at the two-day musical extravaganza going on at RFK Stadium, she had wanted most to see Coldplay, the up and coming Britpop band. She was as surprised as anyone yesterday when lead singer Chris Martin pulled her up on stage to sing. “I was in the front of the stage, and nobody knew them up there. [People in the crowd] were being so rude and obnoxious,” said the still-glowing 24-year-old who had flown in from Columbus, Ohio. “Then they started playing my favorite song,… Read more »

Metallica Members Rip Each Other In Interview

The lead vocalist of hard rock band Metallica cannot sing well and may be homophobic, the drummer isn’t very good either, and everyone was mean to the bass player. That’s not the critics talking, but the four members of the San Francisco-based group taking potshots at each other during separate interviews woven together in the upcoming issue of Playboy magazine. The sessions were conducted two months before bass player Jason Newsted announced in January he was quitting the mega-selling group after 14 years, citing “private and personal reasons” and “physical damage” resulting from his playing. On The Second Day of Christmas: Jimmy Eats Duets while Taylor Spins Rockin’ Romance

On The Second Day of Christmas: Jimmy Eats Duets while Taylor Spins  Rockin’ Romance Dear Santa, 1. First thing’s first: I’m a sucker for duets. Two voices are better than one, right? The more the merrier. I’ve always loved listening for those sweet harmonies (probably thanks to my high school choir days) and when there are two voices singing melody and harmony with perfect precision and emotion… I swoon. Just think of when Alex Gaskarth joined We Are The In Crowd on “Kiss Me Again”, or Natasha Bedingfield’s awesome back and forth vocals with Simple Plan on “Jet Lag”–both… Read more »
