The tour celebrates the 20th anniversary of Yellowcard‘s iconic album Ocean Avenue and promises to be a memorable experience for fans of both bands. After the release of their sixth studio album, Tear Me To Pieces, in early March, Story Of The Year has wasted no time in announcing their involvement in the Ocean Avenue tour. Last week, Cameron Hurley—who found fame with We Are The In Crowd in 2009 and became a staple on Warped Tour—released the first three installments to his complete cover album of blink-182’s 1997 album Dude Ranch. Under the recording name new.wav, Hurley first issued “Pathetic,” “Voyour,” and “Dammit” covers, which exude the same high energy performance level as blink-182’s 2000 live album, The Mark, Tom, and Travis Show. The Mars Volta have announced another string of North American tour dates to kick off September 13th in Minneapolis, MN and wrap up October 11th in Salt Lake City, UT. This headline tour will follow their world tour, spanning the entirety of spring and summer 2023. This news comes after the post-prog-rock group released the album Que Dios Te Maldiga Mi Corazón, a complete acoustic re-working of their 2022 reunion album, The Mars Volta, last week. Metal behemoths Underoath and The Ghost Inside have announced a massive summer co-headlining tour with We Came As Romans and Better Lovers as support. “This tour has been a long time in the making and I couldn’t be more pumped,” Underoath shares in a press release. “The fact that we’ve never toured with any of these bands before is wild but the fact that we’re all on one tour is making me count down the day till it starts. Just weeks after Tim Armstrong reunited with Operation Ivy’s Jesse Michaels for the announcement of their new band Bad Optix, Armstrong’s legendary punk rock group Rancid has delivered their new single “Tomorrow Never Comes.” Along with the titular track release, the group has announced their first new album since 2017’s Trouble Maker.
