2024 is the year of IDLES. The British punk band has been sharing dazzling singles including “Dancer,” “Gift Horse,” and “Grace” ahead of their LP release TANGK, due out on February 16. EDM DJ Illenium isn’t a stranger to the alternative scene. During his Los Angeles, CA, shows on February 2 and 3 at SoFi Stadium, he brought out several special guests. The tour is to support his self-titled independent release, which arrived last spring. Illenium’s exploration into the alt scene isn’t unheard of. Hardcore’s growing popularity in the mainstream is evident. With Knocked Loose going viral, the genre has introduced a new avenue for some artists to explore. Que: The Neighbourhood’s vocalist Jesse Rutherford and his new band, Valley Girl. The new group has released a four-song demo on YouTube simply titled “Demo” that runs a little over 10 minutes.
