We all know that Ohio is for lovers, but Hawthorne Heights has set out to prove that it’s not just Ohio. After three editions of the festival hitting emo fans hard in 2022, Hawthorne Heights is bringing the “Is For Lovers Festival” to eight cities in 2023. This year’s event will visit Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, NV; Denver, CO; Manteo, NC; Council Bluffs, IA; Cincinnati, OH; Pelham, TN; and Mansfield, MA. The Fest has announced the 2023 line-up and it is stacked with hundreds of incredible bands. Celebrating its 21st year, The Fest will be held in Gainesville, FL on October 27th, 28th, and 29th. Headliners this year include Thursday, Decendents and Less Than Jake, with both Thursday and Less Than Jake performing special album shows. Bristol bred punk rockers IDLES returned to New York City on Thursday, September 15th for the final show of the North America leg of their 2022 tour. The band landed at the historic Kings Theatre in Flatbush, Brooklyn which provided a stunning juxtaposition between classic movie palace architecture and a contemporary punk rock concert. IDLES leaned heavily into their 2021 LP Crawler but the setlist spanned their entire catalog. The band has released four albums since 2017, with Crawler seeing the band venturing into more of a post-punk style.
