Seven more acts join Vans Warped Tour 2015 line up


It’s that time of the week again! The Vans Warped Tour announcement is in, and this week the legendary touring festival is adding Emarosa (6/19-7/12), Mod Sun, PUP (7/1-7/29), ’68, The Karma Killers, and MC Lars to its line up.

I Am the Avalanche announce new album, stream new song


I Am the Avalanche will be releasing their new album Wolverines on March 18. The album will be released through I Surrender Records and Rude Records. The band is streaming the first cut from that record, “The Shape I’m In.”

Corey Haim died of pneumonia


The coroner has ruled that actor Corey Haim died from pneumonia complications and that drugs found in his system were not a factor in his death. Previous reports said Haim had prescriptions for large doses of powerful painkillers, including Oxycontin. But no Oxycontin was found in his system.

Two bands on the Snocore Tour had already canceled their sets, the loudspeaker was playing songs on repeat, and instead of the first band starting at its scheduled time, a confused-looking roadie walked across the stage and babbled away on his cell phone.

Powerful sedative found in Michael Jackson's home


LOS ANGELES — The powerful sedative Diprivan was found in Michael Jackson’s home, a law enforcement official said Friday as the city planned for a massive crowd at the singer’s memorial service. Diprivan is an anesthetic widely used in operating rooms to induce unconsciousness. Also known as Propofol, it’s given intravenously and is very unusual to have in a private home. The law enforcement official spoke on condition of anonymity because the person was not authorized to speak about the matter. A Los Angeles Police spokesman, Lt. Bono gets the (RED) out for World AIDS Day


LOS ANGELES — Bono’s adding to his résumé for sainthood. For today’s 20th anniversary of World AIDS Day, the U2 frontman and all-around good guy is helping launch (RED)WIRE, a music-themed site to benefit the cause.   “Through music [people] are not just celebrating their life, they are celebrating lives and the saving of them,” Bono says in a video message. And he’s getting some help from a few all-star pals. Storm reportedly saved Mick Jagger from assassination


Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger only survived an assassination attempt by Hells Angels members nearly 40 years ago because a boat carrying his would-be killers was swamped in a storm, according to a new BBC documentary. The details of a plot to kill the British rocker were revealed by an FBI agent as part of a series, “The FBI at 100,” which is to be aired on BBC Radio 4 on Monday. Anastasio jailed for missing session


Trey Anastasio spent two days in an upstate New York jail last week for missing a counseling session required after he pleaded guilty to a drug charge in April. The 43-year-old former Phish lead singer was ordered to participate in the Washington County court’s treatment program when he pleaded guilty to possessing painkillers without a prescription during a traffic stop in December 2006. The program requires weekly court appearances for 12 months to 15 months, community service and drug testing.
