On November 25, Chicago got an honorary new street: Steve Albini Way. In May, the iconic producer passed at 61 years old. At the corner of Belmont and Rockwell, where his studio Electrical Audio sits, the official street sign was unveiled in front of a crowd with a speech from Kim Deal of The Breeders and Pixies. According to several reports, including confirmation to Consequence and Pitchfork, the legendary record producer Steve Albini has passed away due to a heart attack. He was 61 years old. An iconic figure in the alternative music industry, serving as a musician, producer, audio engineer, and founder/owner of Electrical Audio recording studio in Chicago, IL, Albini was born on July 22, 1962, in Pasadena, CA. Ahead of their forthcoming full-length album, I Want To Disappear, The Story So Far has released their punchy new single, “All This Time.” This release arrives as the third single following the release of “Big Blind” and “Letterman.” As the album’s opener, the track bursts forth with a fervent array of instrumentation. Grammy-nominated rock band, Code Orange have announced the details of their upcoming full-length album The Above. The record is set to drop September 29th via Blue Grape Music.
