The first challenge of properly absorbing Benjamin Gibbard’s first solo album Former Lives: separating the Death Cab For Cutie and Postal Service versions of Gibbard from the solo one. The new album is more gritty and acoustic than his former beloved gentle indie catalogue, true, but Former Lives needs to be experienced in its own right without any shackles of the past.
Singer Lauren Paley, who has become a TikTok sensation, has given us the Disney princess we’ve been desperately waiting for since 2002. In her series, “Singing Popular Songs Like a Disney Princess,” the artist has reimagined the beloved My Chemical Romance track, “Welcome To The Black Parade.” With sugary sweet soaring vocals and theatrical flair, she reimagines emo’s most anthemic track as a moment straight out of a lost Disney classic. To celebrate the 21-year anniversary of their breakout album, My Chemical Romance has unleashed Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge (Deluxe Edition). The record has been extended from its original 13-song tracklist to feature four previously unreleased live versions, pulled from the band’s 2005 BBC Radio 1 The Lock Up session. With anticipation mounting for My Chemical Romance to kick off the Long Live The Black Parade Tour this summer, the emo-punk legends have announced an additional performance in Mexico City, Mexico. While the band’s current tour run is slated for this summer, their Mexico City performance is scheduled on February 13, 2026, at Estadio GNP Seguros. The band has yet to announce who will support them at this specific show. Following last month’s release of “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)” from their 2005 BBC Radio 1 The Lock Up session, the band has now shared a blistering live version of “Helena” from the same performance.
