Happy New Year! This week’s feature rings in the first day of 2015 with a closer look into “The New Year” by Death Cab For Cutie, and the cover by Jake Ewald of Modern Baseball and Kiley Lotz of Petal.
The first challenge of properly absorbing Benjamin Gibbard’s first solo album Former Lives: separating the Death Cab For Cutie and Postal Service versions of Gibbard from the solo one. The new album is more gritty and acoustic than his former beloved gentle indie catalogue, true, but Former Lives needs to be experienced in its own right without any shackles of the past.
In a previous teaser video, My Chemical Romance shared that the United Kingdom won one “nuclear winter.” It turns out that many fans were correct in assuming the band would be stopping through on their Long Live The Black Parade Tour. While the band is not touring multiple venues throughout the UK and Europe, My Chemical Romance has announced two massive 2026 shows at London’s Wembley Stadium on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11. In typical My Chemical Romance fashion, they just released a cryptic video, and this time, it’s satirizing old-school game shows with “Quizzo.” Some fans are taking this as a sign of more Long Live The Black Parade international tour dates to come. Uh oh… My Chemical Romance has entered the “online discourse,” and long-time fans are clashing with “casual” fans. My Chemical Romance has just kicked off their Long Live The Black Parade tour, and some ticket holders took to social media to describe their surprise and perhaps upset with the band for their political themes. Clad in their Black Parade marching band uniforms, My Chemical Romance welcomed fans back to The Black Parade yesterday, July 11, in Seattle, WA, for night one of the “Long Live” The Black Parade tour. Violent Femmes kicked off the night with a rousing 13-song setlist, featuring fan favorites “Kiss Me” and “Gone Daddy Gone” before MCR took to the stage.
