Though some fans may not believe it until they see it in stores, Michael Jackson’s first full album of original material in 10 years, Invincible, is slated for an October 30 release. The album will include “You Rock My World,” its first single, and the track “Speechless,” according to a statement released Thursday (August 23) by Epic Records. No other song titles were mentioned. For many local fans, the enduring concert memory of goth-metal rock band the Cult is of the already-declining group being thoroughly upstaged at the Forum in 1995 by Lenny Kravitz and his band, an event followed by the Cult’s breakup a few months later. Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger will release his fourth solo album in November via Virgin Records, the label announced on its Web site. MTV announced today the nominees for the “2001 MTV Video Music Awards.” Fatboy Slim tops the list with nine nominations for his video “Weapon of Choice,” which is directed by Spike Jonze and features actor Christopher Walken dancing. Dido, whose RIAA triple-platinum debut album NO ANGEL has just logged its 55th week on the Billboard 200 Album chart, where it remains the longest-running title inside the top 30, has embarked on her 2nd annual headlining summer tour of North America.
