When Courtney Love has her day in court to argue her case against Geffen Records, Inc., she and her attorney won’t be able to use a pivotal claim Love has touted since the dispute started over a year ago. One of Love’s key arguments has been that recording artists are unfairly excluded from a labor law provision that allows other entertainment workers, such as actors, to be freed from their contracts after seven years. Bush guitarist Nigel Pulsford’s break from touring now looks to be a permanent vacation from the band he co-founded a decade ago with frontman Gavin Rossdale. The British rockers will continue with ex-Helmet guitarist Chris Traynor instead of counting on Pulsford’s return, Rossdale said Sunday, shortly before Bush performed at Rock Im Park music festival. Apparently the May 9, 1999 Love and Rockets show at the Roxy in Los Angeles, CA was taped, but as the crew tore down the band’s equipment immediately following the show, the tapes (ADAT tapes about the size of a cassette) were stolen. Bow Wow and B2K have finalized the itinerary for their Scream 2 Tour, which will crisscross the country from the end of July to the end of September. Courtney Love will not be made to undergo a psychiatric examination at the insistence of former Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, a judge ruled Wednesday. Grohl and Novoselic, who along with Love are partners in the business entity Nirvana LLC, filed a motion in the King County Superior Court in Seattle on April 11, asking that Love’s mental state be subject to an evaluation, as pursuant to a clause in the contract they each signed upon forming the company.
