A federal appeals court in Manhattan heard oral arguments yesterday in a case that questions the constitutionality of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. The DMCA was passed by Congress in 1998 when a number of entertainment companies and trade organizations pressured lawmakers to make unauthorized electronic distribution of digital copyrighted materials illegal. The DMCA legislation has given rise to a move by the RIAA to require radio stations streaming on the Internet to pay both performance and publishing royalty fees. After sharing the news that Riot Fest would take place in Bridgeview, IL at SeatGeek Stadium, the festival has officially announced they’re returning to Douglass Park in the heart of Chicago. “If there was no Chicago, there’d be no Riot Fest. The emo cover of the century has just dropped. Anthony Green (Circa Survive, Saosin, The Sound of Animals Fighting, L.S. Dunes) covered Title Fight‘s “Numb, But I Still Feel It.” The track comes from Title Fight’s 2012 record Floral Green. In Green‘s cover, he softens the punk edges of the OG track with his iconic psychedelic rock sonics and glowing vocals.
