UK artists represent 10 percent of U.S. market


LONDON –  One in 10 albums bought in the United States last year was by a British act, figures from the BPI, which represents the British recorded music business, showed yesterday. The rise to 10 percent from 8.5 percent in 2007 was due to a mixture of established bands like Coldplay which released “VivaLa Vida or Death and All His Friends,” and Radiohead with “In Rainbows” and newer acts like Duffy, Leona Lewis and Estelle. Travis Barker, Shanna Moakler split again


After a series of on-again, off-again reports, Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler have split up again, his publicist confirmed Wednesday. The couple divorced in 2006, but reunited after Barker survived a plane crash last year. Unidentified sources told UsMagazine.com that the couple just couldn’t make it work. Blink-182's Travis Barker explains arm sling


Once the initial shock of seeing a reunited Blink-182 take the stage at Sunday’s Grammy Awards had subsided, fired-up fans were left to analyze the brief moment, Zapruder-film style. iTunes holds 12.6% of U.S. music market


Digital music sales continue fast growth in the U.S., accounting for 18 percent of the music market there this year, and set to climb to 41 percent of total sales across the next five years, Forrester Research reports. The report predicts 55 percent of U.S. online consumers will pay to download music in 2013. Despite this strong growth, labels must get used to a smaller value music market, say the analysts, overall the U.S. music market will shrink from its current level of $10.2 billion to $9.8 billion in the next five years. Travis Barker, DJ AM to reunite for performance


LOS ANGELES -— Punk musician Travis Barker and celebrity disc jockey DJ AM will perform together for the first time since the duo survived a fiery plane crash in South Carolina.
