U2, O'Jays Are Rock Hall of Fame Inductees


New York – Irish rockers U2, R&B singers The O’Jays and soul balladeer Percy Sledge are among five musical legends to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the foundation’s 20th annual induction ceremony next year, the organization announced Monday. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation will hold its induction ceremony March 14 at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan. U2 Plays a Surprise Show at Brooklyn Park


New York – With the bright lights of lower Manhattan shining on the stage, the band U2 played a surprise outdoor concert Monday in a waterfront park beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. Although the MTV-organized show hadn’t been publicly announced or advertised, thousands lined up at the Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park, a riverside park between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and across from the New York skyline. U2 Set to Explode Worldwide


Los Angeles – U2 has sold more than 120 million albums worldwide and won 14 Grammy Awards during the course of its 26-year career, so you would think that there would be a level of ease that comes with a new release. With the Dubliner’s new album, How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, hitting stores on Nov. 23 and their tunes already featured in everything from iPod commercials to episodes of CSI and The O.C., the group is now making plans to blanket the globe. Apple Release Custom U2 iPod


Rock band U2 has cut a deal with Apple Computer to sell custom iPods promoting the band’s forthcoming album. Sources close to the group say the U2 edition of the popular digital music player will come preloaded with the band’s new album, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, along with portions of the Irish supergroup’s 25-year catalogue. Unreleased U2 Album Missing in France


A compact disc of recordings from Irish rock band U2’s forthcoming album has gone missing in France, raising fears it will be pirated on the Internet ahead of the release date. According to the band’s Web Site, the CD disappeared from a recording studio in Nice, where U2 were doing a photo-shoot in preparation for the release of their first album in four years.
