I had the opportunity to speak with one of the better people this industry has seen; Pete Wentz. It’s wild to think how big FOB has gotten, and yet they’re still cool as hell, down to earth, and really have made such a positive impact on music – especially for our “scene.”
The Fall of Troy have officially reunited. In September of last year, the band announced three reunion shows for December 2013, each one a full performance of one of their albums. Part 2 of my in-studio interview with Joe Trohman of Fall Out Boy, The Damned Things, With Knives. Listen to part one here. Trohman discussed his new project, With Knives; “Josh [Newton] had been working on what we was actually calling With Knives for a while – and he was just recording these really cool instrumental tracks, really cool 90’s noise rock type stuff. Before Fall Out Boy soared into the consciousness of the mainstream music world and Pete Wentz became a tabloid fixture, the Chicago-based band cut its teeth in dingy Midwestern clubs. Now, well-versed in pop superstardom and with a new album in the wings, the band returned to St. Louis last Tuesday for an intimate night at the tiny Creepy Crawl. The show was announced only a few days prior, and ticket sales were done day-of-show at the venue. Prior to doors opening, the line of patrons stretched around the building into a back alley, and those first in line were… Read more »
Next week, Fall Out Boy will make their first appearance in Russia, at the B1 Maximum concert in Moscow. However, contrary to what some of their fans have been told, they won’t be appearing at an “autograph session” immediately beforehand.Several Russian Web sites claimed to be “official” Fall Out Boy fan clubs, all of which were charging fans money for memberships in return for sit-and-sign sessions with the band. “We were made aware [of several sites] setting up a fake meet-and-greet, somewhere around the band’s upcoming Moscow show, that we had to shut down,” Fall Out Boy’s manager, Bob McLynn,… Read more »
Fall Out Boy’s headlining stint on this year’s Honda Civic Tour had a rough beginning last month. In fact, the trek didn’t start at all. In April, two weeks before they were slated to hit the road, FOB announced that the 43-city North American run would be delayed a month due to “health concerns.” Now the tour is finally under way – it began Friday in Denver . But at the kickoff, it was another artist on the bill who was drawing a lot of the attention: Paul Wall. The People’s Champ is the only hip-hop artist on a bill… Read more »
