Dogg, Dre "Wash''-ed up – Review


There is something almost infuriating about the cynicism displayed by the makers of “The Wash,” a mild and lazy comedy designed for quick play-off in urban markets. Pic, which opened Nov. 14 without press previews, is a sloppy and shoddy piece of work, filled with just about every cliche and caricature common to low-budget, low-brow comedies with predominantly African-American casts. Producers obviously felt they didn’t need to provide anything more substantial or original to wring cash from target audience. But spotty box office may prove them wrong. MCA inks Dogg's kennel of artists


Snoop Dogg, a progenitor of West Coast rap and one of the genre’s most enduring stars, has signed with MCA Records and is moving his Doggy Style Records into the label’s fold for marketing and distribution. The signing also brings to MCA Doggy Style’s roster of Kokane, La Toiya Williams, Soopafly and E-White. In addition to releasing albums, the deal includes the production of companion films starring each of Doggy Style’s artists. They will go direct to home video outlets through Snoopadelic Films. Snoop Busted for Pot


Snoop Dogg (a.k.a. Calvin Broadus) was hit with marijuana possession charges after two of his tour buses were pulled over for speeding just west of Cleveland. Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers stopped the buses on I-90, where Snoop’s buses were en route to tonight’s show in Milwaukee as part of the appropriately named Puff, Puff, Pass Tour. About 200 grams of marijuana were found on one bus, and Snoop and two other passengers were charged with the misdemeanor possession offense, which carries a maximum penalty of a $100 fine. Kid Rock Is Cocky, Calls Out 'Your Mama' With Snoop


Kid Rock has been spending some quality time with a certain “Double G” – and we’re not talking about girlfriend Pamela Anderson and her infamous assets. Cocky, the Bullgod’s next LP, features a duet with Snoop Dogg, according to an Atlantic Records spokesperson, while Kid Rock returns the favor with a guest shot on Snoop’s upcoming record, the laid-back West Coast rapper said. OutKast, D12, And Xzibit Join Snoop On 'Bones' Soundtrack


Snoop Dogg serves as the executive producer for the soundtrack for Bones, the horror film that stars the rapper as the evil villain Jimmy Bones. Snoop has enlisted OutKast, D12, Xzibit, Warren G, and Nate Dogg for the album, scheduled to be released October 9 on Priority Records. “Ballad Of Jimmy Bones,” sung by LaToiya Williams, is tentatively planned to be the record’s first single. Bamboozle Is Cancelled One Week Out From Its Return


Just one week out from the glorious return of Bamboozle Festival after a 10-year hiatus, the festival has announced its decision to cancel the May 5-7 event. This year’s 2023 fest would mark Bamboozle Festival’s 20th anniversary and had scheduled performances from some of the largest names across an array of genres.
