Annie Lennox’s “Into the West,” from Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, won Best Original Song at the 2004 Golden Globe Awards last night in Los Angeles. Recent Pure Noise Records signees Ben Quad are gearing up to release their 5-track EP Ephemera on October 25. On October 7, the band revealed the title track of their forthcoming record, which was preceded by “You’ll Get Nothing And Like It” and “Your Face As An Effigy.” The band shares that “Ephemera” is the “the boiling point of the record. Albany-based punk rockers Prince Daddy & The Hyena just announced an expansive headlining tour across the U.S. beginning in October. The tour kicks off on Oct. 9 at Denver’s Oriental Theater and wraps up on October 28 at Memphis’ Growlers.
