Digitized Creed Battle Demons, Giant Spiders, Journalists

Many a band has had to battle its demons along the path of its career. Creed’s been there, but at this moment they’re also going to war with metal-plated beasts and giant, saber-toothed spiders. The creatures are characters in the computer-animated video for “Bullets,” the follow-up to Weathered’s “My Sacrifice.” Created by video game developers Vision Scape Interactive (“SeaBlade,” “Twisted Metal” 3 & 4), the clip depicts Creed as soldiers of the light battling forces of darkness. Many scenes are reminiscent of “Lord of the Rings,” but with imagery meant to reflect the way Creed have dealt with the biting… Read more »

A judge ruled that George Harrison’s former brother-in-law is not allowed to sell Harrison memorabilia. A preliminary injunction was granted against Carl Roles, who used to be married to the sister of Harrison’s wife, Olivia. Olivia Harrison claims Roles stole ten boxes of clothes, records and memorabilia from their home in the 70’s, then tried to sell it the day after Harrison died. Roles says he had permission to remove the things from the house and he denies he tried to sell them. Harrison died November 29, 2001. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are the last remaining Beatles.

Pop Goes The Emo On Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American

You might think that after parting ways with a major label, Jimmy Eat World would take the opportunity to further indulge in the thoughtful experimentation that marked 1999’s Clarity, their second and final release on Capitol. After all, no label means no more A&R guys frowning at songs like Clarity’s 16-minute-plus “Goodbye Sky Harbor,” with its drum-loop buildup and crescendo of overlapping, programmed vocals. But left to their own devices, Mesa, Arizona’s favorite sons made their most straight-up pop record to date – Bleed American, which hit stores Tuesday. “Things still got pretty gnarly in the studio as far as… Read more »
