A woman who stalked Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison for using her work computer at Sandia National Laboratories to track and harass him and his wife. Devon Townsend has 60 days to surrender to a minimum-security prison in Phoenix, where she is expected to receive mental health care. She had pleaded guilty to stalking and other counts. Townsend, who worked in Sandia’s technology and manufacturing group, used lab computers to illegally access private information about Bennington and his wife, Talinda, in 2006. Alleged Britney Stalker Busted


A Canadian man accused of stalking Britney Spears has been arrested for a second time. Daniel J. Lachance was corralled Tuesday night after entering the Louisiana property of the pop star’s father, Jamie Spears. According to published reports, Lachance was unarmed and offered no resistance. The 25-year-old Canuck was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail Wednesday and charged with criminal trespassing and stalking. He’s being held on $150,000 bail. Alleged Avril Stalker Picked Up By Cops


Police have arrested a man in Seattle for allegedly stalking Avril Lavigne. According to the Associated Press, 30-year-old James Speedy was taken into custody in the Seattle suburb of Lynnwood and was taken to Lynnwood County jail after police searched his home last Wednesday (April 7). Police in Lynnwood have been investigating the case since Canadian police informed them that harassing letters and emails were being sent to Lavigne last year. Spears Can Skip Hearing in Stalker Case


Britney Spears doesn’t have to appear at a hearing next week to seek a permanent order to keep an alleged stalker away, a judge ruled. Superior Court Judge Alan Haber also ruled that Spears can skip a question-and-answer with the lawyer for Japanese businessman Masahiko Shizawa. “I don’t think (ordering her appearance) would add up to anything but additional harassment,” Haber said Monday. A man who allegedly stalked Britney Spears is just “an avid fan” and his actions were simply misinterpreted by the pop star, his attorney said in court. Simon R. Hiller told a Superior Court commissioner that his client, Masahiko Shizawa, 41, of Yokohama, Japan, is trying to resolve the matter with Spears privately.
