Sugar Ray have put together a string of tour dates at college campuses around the country behind their fourth album, last summer’s Sugar Ray. But before hitting institutions of higher learning, the band will play three shows at Caeser’s in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, beginning February 15th. On February 9th, the band will play in Hawaii during the NFL Pro Bowl halftime show. Ford’s new “Santa Baby (Gimme Gimme Gimme)” will be the first single/video from the album, scheduled for an October 30th release. LFO, Bif Naked, Angela Via and Saturday Night Live’s Jimmy Fallon also recorded new tracks – or at least new versions of classic Christmas tunes – for the collection. Fandango began selling tickets today for the nation’s largest-ever live entertainment broadcast: a concert by recording groups Sugar Ray and Uncle Kracker, which will be telecast live from The Tabernacle in Atlanta, Ga., on Aug. 15. Tickets are available at www.fandango.com for 14 Cinemark Theatre locations nationwide. Tickets can be purchased at Fandango’s Web site for $15 each. “We still like to go and bash our heads out and play really loud rock,” says Sugar Ray drummer Stan Frazier. Though best known for acoustic-flavored pop hits like “Fly” and “Every Morning,” the band grew up on a diet of California punk and Eighties New Wave, and its fourth album draws on those roots.
