Sure, you may have read all about the lineup for the 2007 Bonnaroo Festival on various music blogs early Tuesday (February 13), but as it turns out, most of that “information” – and by “most,” we mean roughly 30 percent – was incorrect (we’re as shocked as you are). V2 Restructured, White Stripes, Moby Become Free Agents


Sheridan Square has basically shuttered its frontline V2 record business as part of restructuring to focus on its catalog releases and the future opportunities presented by digital distribution. On January 12, the company let go its V2 staff, including president Andy Gershon, and will reorganize the business in its Nashville office, where the company’s COO Michael Olsen will oversee the catalog business. About 35 people are believed to have lost their jobs as part of the restructuring. White Stripes' Jack marries in Amazon ceremony


SAO PAULO, Brazil – Grammy-winning singer and guitarist Jack White of the rock duo White Stripes married British model Karen Elson this week in a canoe in the Brazilian Amazon, according to a message on the band’s Web site. The marriage, conducted by a shaman priest, took place on Wednesday at the confluence of the Amazon, Negro and Solimoes rivers with a group of close friends attending, the site reported. White Stripes Finish New Album In Two Weeks


Only two weeks after they started, White Stripes have finished recording their new album and are planning its release date. Jack White planned on finishing up this release fairly quickly in his home studio with Meg White. The pair completed the recording on March 18, after recording a song a day. They still have to mix and master it, according to NME.com. The band recorded their last record, Elephant, in 10 days and White completed Loretta Lynn ‘s Grammy-winning Van Lear Rose in 12 days. White Stripes Disavow Documentary


The White Stripes have gone on the offensive against a filmmaker they say has released an unauthorized documentary about the duo. “Nobody Knows How To Talk to Children,” which was recently screened at the Seattle Film Festival, was shot by George Roca over the White Stripes’ four-night stand in 2002 at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. “He wanted to videotape the entire event, stage performance and backstage goings on for his demo reel,” the band writes on its official Web site. “We said yes to his request provided he and his crew agreed to the following conditions: 1) it had to… Read more »

White Stripes Lead Singer Pleads Guilty


White Stripes lead singer Jack White pleaded guilty to assault and battery Tuesday for a fight with the lead singer of another band. White was accused of repeatedly punching Von Bondies lead singer Jason Stollsteimer and originally was charged with misdemeanor aggravated assault. He could have faced up to a year in jail, but will avoid jail time under the plea deal. White must pay a $500 fine, plus $250 in court fees, and Judge Paula G. White Stripes Singer Charged With Assault


White Stripes lead singer Jack White was charged Monday with aggravated assault after a fight with the lead singer of another band. White went to a police precinct early Sunday morning and gave a statement saying he struck Von Bondies lead singer Jason Stollsteimer in self-defense. The Dec. 13 fight between White and Stollsteimer began shortly before midnight at the Majestic Theatre Center, where both men were in the audience for another concert. White Stripes to Postpone Upcoming Tour Dates


The White Stripes vocalist and guitarist Jack White has injured his hand in a car accident, which took place in Detroit at 1 pm on Wednesday the 9th of July. White suffered a compound fracture to his left index finger. All White Stripes shows through August 10th have been postponed. Every effort if being made to reschedule these shows as soon as possible. The White Stripes deeply value the relationship they have with their fans and regret any inconvenience caused by these current events and are thankful for their patience and understanding.
